Based on the concept of a "Groundscape", the project maximizes the land's natural charm and creates a landscape in harmony with the architecture.
The entire site is covered with crushed stones, creating a dynamic landscape dotted with plantings that create continuity with the surrounding environment and giant Mannari stones(Granite) with an overwhelming presence.

Landscape design that connects sculptural architecture and the earth, bringing out the best of Okayama’s charms.

The megaliths of Mannari Stone(Granite), mined in the city of Okayama, which Isamu Noguchi loved, are dotted around the site as if a vein of rock leading up to the site had appeared above the ground.

Composed mainly of medium-tall varieties of native species that evoke the warm climate of the Seto Inland Sea and Mt. Sozan, which is also a borrowed landscape in the Okayama Korakuen Garden. The undergrowth is planted with ornamental grasses, such as silver grass, that give a feel of the adjacent riverbed.
